West Sussex based Jimmy Cooke has been working in the studio world for over 20 years, darkening the doors of many iconic recording studios including The Hit Factory NYC, Abbey Road, Rockfield, Jacobs, Metropolis, Strongroom and Whitfield Street Studios.
These days Jimmy can be found working out of his Chichester based home studio Way José! He divides his time between mixing records, recording drums and freelance project management and consultancy for various clients and record labels including Vineyard Worship UK & Ireland and Integrity Music.

Mix rate: £250 / $300 per song* (discounts available for EP’s and albums). *Per song rate is based on a running time of 5 minutes or less and less than 60 tracks to mix. This includes up to a maximum of 4 revisions. Mix processed stems are an additional £50 / $70 per song. If your song exceeds this track length and track count please get in touch to discuss.
Mix prep notes: Please make sure you are sending clearly labelled tracks (for example “Lead Vocal Double”, “Electric Clean”, “Synth Sub”, “Snare Top” etc.) and avoid the classics like “Audio.57.dup.dup.11.” Please export mono tracks in mono and stereo tracks in stereo as consolidated 48kHz, 24-bit (or higher) WAV files all lining up to 0:00. A rough mix, production notes and any references are always really welcome. If you are working in ProTools, feel free to include the PT session with the audio files.

20 years in 20 seconds: After studying Broadcast Audio Engineering in London, Jimmy relocated to Houston TX from 2011-2012 to train as a studio intern for Vineyard Worship USA. In 2012, he returned to the UK to manage the Vineyard Worship UK & Ireland record label full-time. In September 2023, Jimmy founded his own consultancy business JCMS and continues to manage the Vineyard label on a part-time basis in addition to freelancing as a mix engineer, studio drummer and project manager for Integrity Music. Jimmy is first and foremost a musician and an ardent music fan and this informs his approach to all that he does.
A note from Jimmy:
Making music is life giving, rewarding and as a good friend of mine once said, “If it’s in you, it has to come out”. But it can also be a long road and a bewildering cocktail of setbacks and breakthrough, disappointments and mountain top moments. Being in a band has taught me so much about the value of trust and relationship in creative collaborations, and that the music we make together is unique to us.
Working to deadlines (and usually on a very tight budget) can create pressure and frustration but never forget that making music is a gift! Part of what I’ve (somehow) been able to facilitate over the years is helping people finish creative endeavours which is a source of real joy to me.
